June Status Update

Some Monster Musume this time, because why not.

Ahhh hell.  Sorry for not updating in a while.  I always hate coming here empty-handed, so to speak, having to explain why nothing is getting done.

So back in March, I hit the halfway point of the Ranma fic chapter I'm working on.  As I've explained before, this is probably the most difficult chapter in the story, and I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to go about the second half of this thing.  In the midst of trying to figure it out, I also got wrapped up in various other things, and it's been a struggle getting back to the story since then.  I kept wanting to at least get the rest of this thing planned out before I came and posted another update, but at this point it's just taken too long.

And here we are.  Now, I'm honestly not sure when this is going to get done.  It could be done at any time, but it's been very tough to just sit down and work through this with so many other things going on.  Every now and then I feel like I'm thinking on the right track and I've got the answers, and then I lose it again.  It's just one of those things that'll be done when it's done, I guess.  It's so annoying that I'm stuck like this when the story is so close to finished, but such is life I suppose.  I assure you, though, this thing WILL get done once I figure it out.  I know it's been over a year now since the story had a new chapter, but it WILL be completed.

Alright, that's all for now.  I'll keep trying at this and hopefully I'll be able to say I have a plan for the remainder of this chapter soon.  Thanks for reading, as always.  'Til next time.

Halfway Point

Rin is not amused by your shenanigans.  Yuru Camp needs to go on forever.  I need more of it in my life.

In fanfic news, "MNB" Requiem for Youth" Chapter 18 is 50% complete.  The first chunk went by quick, but then a combination of me being busy and me needing to hammer out some specific details for the next part stalled things out for a bit.  Once I figured everything out, that next chunk got done pretty fast.  And so here we stand, halfway done.  Chapter already has the same word count as some of my more recent chapters, which doesn't surprise me one bit.

Had some things to do this weekend, but tomorrow I'll be starting on the second half.  I know exactly how I want to end the chapter, and I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do with the beginning and middle bits of this chunk, so I just need to iron out some details and then this should go by smoothly.  It's been interesting so far, and I'm excited to get this first draft done and polish it so you guys can read it.  Again, keep an eye on the progress bar to the right to see how close it is to being done.

And before I go, a quick thanks to TS for the lengthy review of the first part of the story, and for the information on China.  The dialects part was especially enlightening.  For some reason, I always had it in my mind that Mandarin was just the term used when referring to the Chinese language; I didn't realize it was a specific dialect of it.  It's such a minor part of the story that I never thought to go look into it either.  Once this chapter is done, I'll probably go through the painstaking process of correcting all instances of "Mandarin" in the story to just "Chinese".  It's a harmless change, and one that makes sense.

Okay, that's all for now.  I'll be back once the first draft for this chapter is done.  Thanks for reading, as always.  'Til next time.
