Halfway Point

Rin is not amused by your shenanigans.  Yuru Camp needs to go on forever.  I need more of it in my life.

In fanfic news, "MNB" Requiem for Youth" Chapter 18 is 50% complete.  The first chunk went by quick, but then a combination of me being busy and me needing to hammer out some specific details for the next part stalled things out for a bit.  Once I figured everything out, that next chunk got done pretty fast.  And so here we stand, halfway done.  Chapter already has the same word count as some of my more recent chapters, which doesn't surprise me one bit.

Had some things to do this weekend, but tomorrow I'll be starting on the second half.  I know exactly how I want to end the chapter, and I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do with the beginning and middle bits of this chunk, so I just need to iron out some details and then this should go by smoothly.  It's been interesting so far, and I'm excited to get this first draft done and polish it so you guys can read it.  Again, keep an eye on the progress bar to the right to see how close it is to being done.

And before I go, a quick thanks to TS for the lengthy review of the first part of the story, and for the information on China.  The dialects part was especially enlightening.  For some reason, I always had it in my mind that Mandarin was just the term used when referring to the Chinese language; I didn't realize it was a specific dialect of it.  It's such a minor part of the story that I never thought to go look into it either.  Once this chapter is done, I'll probably go through the painstaking process of correcting all instances of "Mandarin" in the story to just "Chinese".  It's a harmless change, and one that makes sense.

Okay, that's all for now.  I'll be back once the first draft for this chapter is done.  Thanks for reading, as always.  'Til next time.

It Begins Again!

Secret Society BLANKET, another dash of Yuru Camp greatness.  I love this show so much.  I don't think I've been this enamored with a new anime series since No Game No Life.

In fanfic news, writing has finally begun on "MNB: Requiem for Youth" Chapter 18.  Yes, actual progress.  Feels good.  I didn't come up with absolutely everything I was looking for during the planning phase, but I got enough of it.  Sometimes a chapter comes along where the best way to go about it is to just sit down, start typing, and let it flow, and if this isn't one of those chapters, I don't know what is.  I've got some major points I'll steer towards, but aside from those I'm just going to see where the flow takes me.  Should be very interesting.  I'll be working on this whenever I have the time, so keep an eye on the progress bar on the right side of the page to monitor how things are progressing.

On another random note, as I was looking through my "plan to watch" upcoming anime list, I realized five different shows on it are starting in April, including some new Major, new Steins Gate, and some other things.  As someone who's only been watching one or two shows at any given time for years now, this is a strange feeling.  Definitely a good thing, though.  More shows that I actually care about is very good.

Okay, that's all for now.  I'll be back when the first draft for the new chapter is done, or just to give a quick update if it ends up taking a while.  Thanks for reading, as always.  'Til next time.
